Brief Encounters on the Refugee Trail

8.00pm – 9.00pm, Wednesday 18 April

St Saviours Church, Cobbold Rd, White City, London W12 9LN

The Upper Room works with socially disadvantaged people to improve their lives, and give them a second chance. Their aim is to help people overcome the barriers they face, in order to find work and become economically independent.

The Winter Lecture Series is a fundraising event. Tonight’s talk is about brief encounters on the refugee trail with Matthew Price.

About tonight’s speaker:
Matthew Price began his career in 1994 as a trainee local radio reporter at BBC Radio Lincolnshire, and then for the BBC in Newcastle. He covered the Iraq war for the BBC from an aircraft carrier. He has worked in various parts of the world, including reporting the 2010 Haiti earthquake, for which he received an Award. He is now Chief Correspondent for BBC’s Today programme. In summer 2015 he presented Today alongside Jim Naughtie while the big names were on holiday, and received rave reviews. Matthew is a local resident.

Price: Free, but donations are welcome.
