The Chiswick Calendar uses lots of lovely photographs of Chiswick – one per day for the 365 days of daily events listings which we also show on our home page, but also galleries of photographs about particular places and things of interest happening in Chiswick. If you feel like sending us your images we’d love to use them. You don’t need to be a professional or semi-professional photographer. If you’re out for a walk with the dog or the baby and take a shot on your phone that you’re pleased with, we’d love you to share it with us. We will credit you and link to your photography website or Flickr account if you have one.
The Chiswick Calendar photographers
Here are the photographers who regularly share their pictures of Chiswick with us.
Jon has been photographing Chiswick for more than 30 years, coming to photography from a background of painting and drawing. He particularly likes to capture mist and fog, for the serenity of the image it creates. With photography generally he likes the way the medium allows an artist to play with and sometimes blur the boundaries between a figurative image and an abstract one.
Barbara is a best-selling photographer whose prints and photo cards have sold in London, New York, Paris, Milan, Warsaw and Tokyo. In London, she has exhibited widely. Her show Street Music was in the crush bar of the Covent Garden Opera House. Her sell-out show Love London on Regent Street was followed by the Love London book of 180 photographs. The photographs in this exhibition have been taken in the last 17 years in and on the bustling streets, open greens, hidden wood and magical river banks of Chiswick.
Anna is a photographer of people, capturing moments of emotion and turning them into evocative images, but she also places those moments of human interaction in the setting of familiar Chiswick landscapes. Anna is a professional photographer whose work includes corporate and family events such as weddings and portraits.
Marianne Mahaffey is an American photographer for whom taking pictures is a hobby. Neighbour to The Chiswick Calendar’s editor Bridget Osborne, she established the website as a place to see lovely images of Chiswick by providing almost every picture for the first six months. Sadly she then moved back to the US but we owe her a huge debt of gratitude for helping get The Chiswick Calendar started.
